John Bailey began his optical career in 1982 at Winchester Optical Laboratory in Elmira, N Y. As a lab technician. After earning an Associates Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing from Mater Dei College in Ogdensburg, N.Y.. He worked throughout New York as a New York State Licensed Optician and Contact Lens Dispenser. In 1988 John obtained his license to practice Opticianry in Florida and in 1989 he relocated to Port Charlotte, FL where he was employed by a large local optical retailer. In 1991 he joined Community Eye Center as they added an optical dispensary to their practice. John has been an active member of the Professional Opticians of Florida since 1991 where he has held many positions including President and Vice President, and was instrumental in establishing a Charlotte Chapter of this State organization that educates Opticians in Florida. John sits on an advisory panel for Essilor, the largest U.S. Optical Laboratory. John Bailey is the Director of Optical Service for Community Eye Center and manager of Community Eye Optical.
